Chelsea looked at the lamp once more. She sighed and placed it in the hidden spot. When Feyd and Lunaris left their world, she and Karl decided that, in order to prevent any conflict because of the lamp. She covered the spot and, in an act of randomness, she placed a ring she had kept as a child with the lamp as well. "Karl. It was fun wasn't it?" "Yeah. We should go Chelsea. It's getting late." "I know. I know," Chelsea said slightly tearing up as they left the hidden spot in the desert to return to Uherty. -------------------------------------------------------- Syrian Stories Presents... Genie! Started by Madsman This Part by Ranma X. Chapter 5: Embracing the light. ------------------------------------------------------- Back in the kingdom of Darkness, Feyd and Lunaris, emerged unexpectedly in the main palace. The royal family, including his father, looked relieved, but confused. "What happened?! Last we heard the attempt to rescue you was a wash." "Well, I was almost dead by the forces of 'good' when I was teleported to the same place I had been to recently." "I was there as well sir," Lunaris remrked flatly, as if in confirmation to Feyd's statement. "Very good then. Our nation was actually concerned about your safety. Get some rest. We have more worlds to conquer," the King said in an even tone. "Fine father," Feyd said as he walked back to hid room. Before he exited the hall, he said, "Lunaris! Get the other generals and the research scientists in order. I have a few things I need to be informed about," Feyd said, his calm, deadly demeanor returned. Lunaris almost smiled on the inside seeing Feyd so....normal, one would suppose. A few hours later. Feyd sat in a general conference room with the major generals and the top research scientists in the vicinity. "General Necheyvich. Report." Feyd demanded softly. "Sir. Since you spatially disappeared, we have drawn out from the forces of light's base and have made subsequent attacks to their facilities. With you and General Lunaris gone, Myself and General Vostov commanded the forces and..." This continued for a while as Feyd look on, seeming serious and rather concerned. Inside, he was really bored with the talk of military protocol and conquest. His interest peaked, however, when General Necheyvich sat down and a man clad in a white lab coat stood. "Ah. Professor Ayenomo," Feyd saidm even letting a bit of exitement escape from his voice. "We seem to understand now the methods of your disappearance. However, when you came back from your first "jump", the details you gave of the place you ended up in do not concur with our findings?" "Excuse me?" "To but it briefly, In order to accomplish the atomic manipulation required to teleport to a location across space and time would require either an enourmously huge amount of energy to be used of some sort of high technology that would allow the same action to be accomlipished less energy loss. My guess would have to be the latter. However, in your descriptions, you described the planet as quote: ' A rather hot hellhole with primitive technology and rather large members of the Avian class.' This doesn;'t add up your highness. How can a so-called primitive planet be the capable of such a feat." "Professor Ayemono," Feyd said with a hint of confusion, "I can explain. The inhabitants of the planet claimed and seemed to wield the power of magic." "hah-Hahaha! Magic! Magic?! Impossible! There is no such thing as magic in this world or any other! If I may speak freely, it seems this world you went to has changed you." "Professor Aye-!" General Lunaris said until Feyd raised his hand, ordering her silence. "Do you honestly believe that Ayemono?" Feyd said, narrowing his eyes. There was a quiet silence for several minutes, Feyd and Lunaris on one end, Ayemono and his staff on the other end, the Generals and support staff waiting, deciding. "Your Majesty! I have grave news!" a messenger stormed in. "What is it?" Feyd asked, a hint of worry in his face. "The king is dying!" "What?!" Feyd and Lunaris said, faces full of shock. "That was the other point I was going to bring up..." Ayemono said with a smirk, "Yes, the king was diagnosed with a rather terminal illness while you were away. He is an old man, contrary to appearances. I sent your uncle here, in case you did not return," "My...uncle?" "Yes, he should be arriving soon." Ayemono said as Feyd and Lunaris ran to see the king. At the King's Bedroom, Feyd and Lunaris arrived to see a weaker looking king. "F..Father," Feyd said quietly. "F,Feyd...don;t look at me. I am weak now. You-You must not only lead th armies, but lead the empire. N-Now in my illness, I need to say something to you... Now is the time to promote peace across the empire. The forces of light are just as tired of war as we are. We must make amends. We-..." "Brother!" The King's Brother exclaimed as he arrived. "Jemorn... how good it is to see you," "Quite brother." "I..I must say that Feyd will lead us to peace and honor. We-!" "Feyd? lead? No Brother. Feyd will be my loyal general, at best. I have come to take the throne and the direction of leadership from your and your...,'son', is it? Either way, we will take this empire and conquer this world for darkness!" "What the hell are you ranting about old man?!" Feyd said, yelling in anger. "Well if it isn't the little girl, back from her vacation elsewhere. Heh. You? lead this nation?! I'm sorry. I have the support of the soldiers and all your generals, except for your girlfriend, anyways." "What nonsense! The people are behind me! Guards, arrest this man!" Feyd said as, expectedly, the guards raised their arms at Feyd, readying their blasters. "Son of a..." was all Feyd could say. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Chelsea couldn't sleep. She was looking up at the sky again from her sleeping spot next to Karl. She clearly had to admit it. She kept missing Feyd. It was hard not too. She really felt as though her life would never be the same again. She saw Karl. She sighed. He was a nice guy, but...well, you know how it goes. She sat up and looked at Karl again. She said she promised to not use the lamp again, but as she stood up to leave for where the lamp was buried, she said "I need you genie." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Feyd and Lunaris were running. This prved to not be the best of times for either of them. Besides the fact that now they were being cast off like yesterday's garbage, they had to weapons to defend themselves. After much running, they were able to lose the guards in a secret passage. Feyd looked at Lunaris. "What the hell are we going to do?!" "You're asking me, Feyd?!" "I...I suppose I am Lunaris." "You can call me Suria now Feyd. I don't think rank and military order apply any more." "Quite right Suria," Feyd concurred as they kept running, "Damn you Jemorn! I will take back what's rightfully mine. I will bring order and peace back to this place...like dad wanted." Feyd said as they heard guards arrive. "Aw Hell..." Feyd said as he and Suria began running again. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- After a few hours of walking, Chelsea arrived at the dunes. She seemed desperate, looking tired and cold in the desert night. She kneeled at the sealed spot. She dug at the ground like a madwoman clawing until she saw the lamp and ring. She looked at it. "Feyd...I, I can't do it. I promised. He has a life back home. He has friends and there are people that love him back there. I can't steal his life from him. But, but something doesn't feel right either....Man it's cold." Chelsea sat in the area for a few minutes. However, a young woman alone in the outskirts of Uherty is a prime target for danger and this danger eminated from a small group of bandits who saw an easy chance at some enjoyable 'recreation'. "Hey guys! Lookee here!" "Heh. I call her first!" "Okay Charlie, go ahead." "I want to see if she has some cash on her." "Looks like she has a few things we can always pawn..." "What if there's someone else close by?" "What are you, chicken? Let's go!" The leader of the band said as they ran to meet up with Chelsea. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- Feyd and Suria somehow arrived at the armory. They loaded up on special weapons and supplies. "We might have to go into hiding now. Get ready. It's gonna take some firepower just to get out without getting killed." Feyd said as he grabbed a few small packs of items. "How are we going to get out of here Feyd?" "Simple. The Allen Tubes." "You're kidding? The ducts we used to play in as kids?" "Hey. We're pretty much the only ones who remember them." "Well, us and Francois Vostov." "He's an idiot. Let's go," Feyd said as he opened a hatch and stuck his head out only to draw it back quickly since gunfire winged his helmet by a one General Vostov. "Ah. I guess this is for all the times I beat him at hide and seek..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- Chelsea didn't see them coming. She coveted the lamp and talked to herself. "Fey-chan..Feyd..Feyd-dy?..Nahh, I like Fey-chan best I guess and-" Her speech was cut short when a scimitar was placed against her neck. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- "You shit! To think I trusted you, you bastard!" Feyd shouted at the hatch. "Whatever you say, traitor to your majesty!" "Why you mother-!" Feyd said shooting a few blasts of fire down the tubes. as a large group of soldiers broke into the armory. "You missed!" Vostov could be heard saying as a large group of soldiers broke into the armory. "Give up, Feyd Eugene Galit and Suria Gwynn Lunaris." The head of the soldiers called. "Now you all now that I don;t give up with out a-aw fuck this!" Feyd said firing on the soldiers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- "Hey Girly. Now what are you doing here all by yourself?" The leader of the bandits smiled, his henchmen laughing. Chelsea was so shocked, tears formed into her eyes and she froze. "Well that's okay, because I don't really care," the leader said. "Give us your things or we may just take them and you as well." Another bandit said lowly. Chelsea nodded. "O,Okay," She said giving the bandits a smile as she said, "But wait. It wouldn;t be fair if I gace you dirty merchandise. It would hurt the price you know? See? Look at this smudge here? Let me clean that..." she said rubbing the lamp. Instantly, Feyd and Lunaris appeared, Feyd firing on the bandits who quickly ran away. Feyd stopped, blinking. "S,Suria..are we?" "I think so Feyd." Lunaris said as they heard someone crying. Chelsea was on her knees, practically bawling. "Chelsea? What- What's going on?" Feyd asked, both shocked and concerned. "The, the..I, I'm so-sorry, its just, I, Sorry, broke, oh Feyd!" she said standing up and tunning to him crying. "Slow down Chelsea. What's wrong?" a surprsingly calming Feyd help console Chelsea. "The...lamp....it's it's..." "It's what?" "It's broken!" Chelsea said bursting into another set of tears. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Author notes. Damn. I had so much planned for this chapter. I had a huge chunk of my time taken away to do math. sleep and procrastinate. I hope that whoever writes again for this story(SIGN UP DAMMIT!!) will find a nifty solution to the predicament. I broke the lamp so that the adventure would stay in Chelsea's world and thus not be too deeply involved in multi- dimensional physics. Also I want to highlight the 'adventure' portion of the series. I like comedy and I did insert a few cheap gags, but I wanted to further the plot. Also, I tried to check, but I may be worng on Lunaris's First name( I don't think I gave her one when I created her and I don;t think anyone added on...) If anyone wants to add on to this, I have a lot of cool ideas I just couldn't write down in time(please ask me for help, willing to pre-read and as I said before, I would LOVE for this story to grow and progress. I really feel that ,even though this is one of the lesser-known indie fics, it has great potential to be one of the best. So in short...sign up! read! laugh! have fun! engage in various illegal activities involving Jell-O(tm)! (Wait that's H! Flash talking now...) Anyways...have fun and JYA!!!
